Question by Panorama.am:  According to Azerbaijani media, Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan announced that Armenia must compensate Azerbaijan for the occupation of Nagorno Karabakh and surrounding territories. He also demanded the creation of the necessary conditions for letting go of Azerbaijan’s occupied territories. Your comments?    

 Karapetian: We applied to the Foreign Ministry of Iran asking that they confirm or deny this statement, made on August 20. The Iranian side has rejected the announcement and reconfirmed the Iranian position on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, a position which they have repeated frequently.

Unfortunately, spreading disinformation has already become the norm for Azerbaijan’s media. The Iranian side shares this opinion.
